Our September guest artist is the Paris-based Marielle Durand. Not only an accomplished urban sketcher of over 25 years, she is also an author, educator, reportage artist, graphic designer, and more. Recently, she has been best known for her monochromatic ink paintings.
In the demo session, she used the following materials:
Rohrer & Klingner Magenta zeichnentusche ink
Fabriano Artistico Aquarello hot press (satiné) paper
La Perla Escoda brush
Raphael soft aqua brush
Large mop brush
Marielle demonstrated her technique using transparent applications of magenta ink, focusing on simplifying value choices and observing light patterns.
Unfortunately, we were not aware that Google Meet (a software we are trying out) does not record the pinned view like Zoom; rather, it records the active speakers only. So, it did not capture Marielle's drawing.

You can watch/listen to the video in the Folder with raw recording, notes, and chat transcript if you like.
We are sorry about this and very disappointed that her process wasn't recorded.
